Amanda G. Mintzer, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of a range of anxiety and mood disorders in adolescents and children. She has particular interest and expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), specific phobias, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, selective mutism, and depression. Dr. Mintzer has received extensive training and is skilled in evidence-based interventions such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents (IPT-A).

Dr. Mintzer completed her pre-doctoral internship at New York Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) where she provided individual, group, and family outpatient therapy to children and adolescents in the Pediatric Psychiatry Department of Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. At CUMC, she worked within the School-Based Mental Health Clinic providing treatment to children with disruptive behavior disorders, and within the Children’s Anxiety and Depression Clinic where she received intensive clinical training in cognitive behavioral interventions for children and adolescents with diverse anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Mintzer also held externships at the Gateway School, New York-Presbyterian Hospital Payne Whitney Westchester, the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and the Child Mind Institute.

Dr. Mintzer received her doctoral degree at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She received a master’s degree in secondary education from Fordham University where she was part of the New York City Teaching Fellows program and taught middle school in Manhattan for three years.
