The Center for Children and Families (CCF) at Florida International University’s (FIU) offers services and treatment for children and their families in an interdisciplinary clinic that provides multimodal, family, and school-centered treatment for children with behavioral and learning problems, as well as emotional and anxiety problems.

Intensive, as well as, weekly treatment programs based in cognitive and behavioral methods are offered for children with selective mutism, as well as a wide variety of other anxiety disorders. Through our weekly and intensive selective mutism treatments, we target the difficulties of speaking in social or school situations with familiar and unfamiliar peers and adults.

Treatment is provided by student level, masters, and doctoral level clinicians and costs of treatment are based on a sliding scale.

Please contact Aileen Herrera, M.S., LMHC to inquire further about the selective mutism program at the CCF, treatment costs, and scheduling a diagnostic intake evaluation for your child.
