In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Anan offers a unique group treatment model for children which provides structured activities designed to advance children’s speaking skills with their peers. Frequent field trips give children the change to practice speaking in community settings such as ice cream parlors, pet shops, and toy stores.
Dr. Anan serves on the Selective Mutism Association Board of Directions. She has been invited by school administrators and conference organizers to give lectures and workshops on SM. She is also the first author of a book chapter on the treatment of children with SM.
