Danielle Cornacchio, PhD
Dr. Cornacchio is a licensed clinical child psychologist specializing in treating young children with anxiety and related disorders, and behavioral disorders. Dr. Cornacchio has particular expertise in treating selective mutism, having undergone extensive training with Dr. Steven Kurtz in New York, NY, Dr. Jami Furr in Miami, FL, and Dr. Lindsey Bergman in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Cornacchio has co-led, led, and directed multiple intensive group treatment programs for children with selective mutism through the Parent Child Interaction Therapy – Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM) model, developed by Dr. Steven Kurtz. Dr. Cornacchio was the lead investigator in the first randomized control trial of the group format of PCIT-SM, and has co-authored and presented on various topics related to the treatment of selective mutism in childhood. Dr. Cornacchio co-instructs (with Dr. Steven Kurtz) PCIT-SM professional trainings.
Dr. Cornacchio founded and directs a private practice in Los Angeles, CA, called the MindBloom Clinic, a specialty clinic for early childhood anxiety, OCD, and behavior problems. She also currently serves as an attending psychologist at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital Child OCD Intensive Outpatient Program and Child Partial Hospitalization Programs.
