Leah is a certified speech language pathologist who became an expert in selective mutism through her clinical experiences and success helping students overcome their fear of talking at school. As a speech language pathologist working in a school district, she noticed an increase in the number of students presenting with selective mutism and became intrigued to learn more about how to help. She has a knack and passion for helping clients overcome their fear of talking in schools and in the public. She believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to selective mutism that includes the child’s pediatrician, psychologist, family, peers, and teachers.

Aside from her expertise in selective mutism, she also has experience helping children in other areas of communication including receptive language, expressive language, social language, fluency, articulation, and phonology. She has improved client communication with childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, autism, ADHD, deafness, and auditory processing deficits. She received her master’s degree at The University of Pittsburgh. She is the owner of Well Said Speech Services in Orange County, CA.
