Jenny Dunn, BCaBA
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley and my education in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) from Florida Institute of Technology. Before discovering my interest in working with children, I worked many years in the Human Resources Management profession in corporate environments. My interest in helping children reach their full potential grew from my experience of raising my two children. As a mother, I understand the joys and challenges of parenting.
I recognize that each child I work with has a unique set of interests, abilities and needs. My dedication and interest in helping children with Selective Mutism stems from my personal life experiences with this diagnosis. Using ABA strategies, I provide a compassionate, positive environment for children and celebrate every step of their progress. The journey to overcome the symptoms of Selective Mutism requires collaboration among parents, school professionals and therapists. I see my role as one that helps parents and school professionals navigate the treatment strategies so that it is more manageable and less overwhelming.
I am dedicated to providing personalized effective behavioral treatment to help children build their confident voices. I am a member of the California Association for Behavior Analysis (CalABA) and continue to keep my skills current through continuing ABA education. I remain active in the Selective Mutism community through attendance in national conferences/workshops and keeping in close contact with families with Selective Mutism to better understand and meet their needs.
I network and collaborate with other treating professionals to ensure my clients receive the most effective treatment strategies.
