Mirae J. Fornander, B.A
Mirae J. Fornander, B.A., earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hastings College. She is currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Mirae’s research and clinical areas of focus include children/adolescents and anxiety disorders. She is particularly interested in family factors and their impact on the development and manifestation of severe anxiety disorders, like selective mutism, in youth. Her research goals include identifying risk factors for anxiety disorders and related difficulties to inform evidence-based treatments.
Throughout her training, Mirae has had the opportunity to provide evidence-based assessment and treatment to youth with selective mutism and their families. These experiences have sparked her passion for educating others and advocating for the unique needs of youth with selective mutism and similar anxiety disorders.
