Jennifer Lish is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice for over 25 years. She attended Philips Exeter Academy, Brown University (B.A.), New York University (Ph.D.), and Columbia University (post-doctoral fellowship). She has been a Research Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Medical College of Pennsylvania. She has worked on research programs on depression and anxiety disorders, given presentations at many professional conferences, and published 30 articles and books. She has been certified as a cognitive-behavior therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is listed as a therapist by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Anxiety Disorders Association of America and International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation. She has been trained at a Behavior Therapy Institute conducted by the Tourette Syndrome Association.

Dr. Lish is the Director of the Worcester Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Worcester, MA. She performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of children and adults with psychiatric illnesses and provides evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy. She has special expertise in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder using Exposure and Response Prevention, the treatment of phobias with graded exposure, and the treatment of oppositional-defiant behavior using Parent Behavior Management. Providing these treatments often requires leaving the office to go into the home, school, and community.

When Dr. Lish treats Selective Mutism, she often accompanies the child to children’s museums and playgrounds and visits their school and daycare in order to assist them in becoming able to socialize and speak normally in the community.

Dr. Lish lives in the Worcester, MA area with her husband and two teenage daughters. She is an avid runner, hiker, cyclist, kayaker, and nature enthusiast. She also enjoys museums, theater, and music. She coordinates her congregation’s work on sheltering and feeding homeless families.
