Confident Kids Camp has arrived to the DC Metro Area! Dr. Lindsay Scharfstein at the Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change is proud to bring Dr. Aimee Kotrba’s Confident Kids Camp, a well-established and Michigan-based program in its 8th year, to the DC Metro area! This is a 5-day intensive therapy program designed to help prepare children with Selective Mutism, ages 4-12, for the upcoming academic year. The camp will be held in Rockville Maryland, within walking distance to the Rockville Town Square, from August 12-16, 2019.
With 1:1 and group support, children with selective mutism will practice speaking during classroom activities (e.g. circle time, presentations), with special guests (e.g., giving verbal commands to therapy dogs), and in the community (e.g., scavenger hunts, ordering at the cupcake store). Families enrolled in camp will benefit from support after camp to help transfer progress from camp into the ‘real world.’
