To improve access to treatment and care, the Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change is offering a 4-session, training series for professionals who work with youth with Selective Mutism. The trainings will cover evidenced-based strategies, such as fading, shaping, and exposures, to help children with Selective Mutism use their voice at school and in important community settings like clubs, sports, and neighborhood parks. The course highlights key elements in effective collaboration with caregivers and schools, as well as case consultation. The training series is primarily intended for providers with experience with CBT, although all levels of experience working with youth with selective mutism are welcome. The total cost for the 4-session series is $100, and all proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund to support a child with selective mutism to attend Confident Kids Camp-DC Metro. Continuing Education credits may be available for an additional cost, paid directly to the CE sponsor (not part of scholarship fund).
The series will meet for 4 sessions on Mondays from 12 pm to 1 pm, on the following dates:
