The holidays are upon us and it is a very stressful time for anxious children who have selective mutism, knowing that grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will be visiting, socializing and asking questions. Role playing and modeling conversations with your child and educating visitors about how to react with an sm child can help to alleviate some of the fears of family gatherings. We will discuss some steps to help make the holidays an enjoyable time for all.
