Miller Psychology Group is a Baltimore-area practice of Licensed Psychologists with expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders across the life span. Our particular areas of specialty include selective mutism, phobias, and OCD.

Drs. Miller, Gorman, and Bechhofer provide comprehensive individual and group interventions for children with SM, including direct work with the child, parent training, and both intervention and consultation with schools. We use a cognitive-behavioral approach in treatment and value a team approach involving parents and school personnel as active participants. Both child and teen groups are available.

Alison Miller, PsyD

Dr. Alison Miller is a licensed psychologist who has developed a thriving niche practice devoted to supporting children and adults with a wide range of anxiety disorders.

She is especially passionate about educating local schools about the needs of children with Selective Mutism and working with administrators to develop paths to services for these students. She is a frequent speaker and trainer to both school personnel and other mental health professionals on the topic of selective mutism and other anxiety disorders.

Dr. Miller was honored to serve on the Board of Directors of SMA from 2013 to 2016 in support of all children and families seeking information and intervention related to Selective Mutism.

Sarah Gorman, PsyD

Dr. Sarah Gorman is a licensed psychologist who has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, outpatient and inpatient hospitals, and within community mental health.

She has experience working with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety and mood concerns, behavior management, and attentional or executive functioning deficits.

Dr. Gorman specializes in selective mutism, concussion recovery, and adjustment to life stressors, including divorce. In addition to her work in private practice, she provides training and supervision to graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees in clinical psychology.
