Dr. Annie Simpson received her Ph.D. in school and clinical-child psychology at University of Toronto. The main focus of her clinical practice is anxiety disorders, particularly those affecting young children.

Dr. Annie uses evidence based (scientifically supported) techniques when addressing these concerns including cognitive behavioural therapy and behavioural interventions. She is certified through the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies. By working with both children and their parents, she aims to provide families with skills that will help create long lasting changes and will be transferable to other concerns in the future. These techniques are all done in a fun, engaging, and playful way that kids enjoy.

In addition to her work with Cornerstone, she is a Clinical Associate in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University and has been a staff psychologist in the Pediatric OCD Program at BC Children’s Hospital. Dr. Annie also works as a consultant for AnxietyBC providing lectures and workshops, and developing self-help materials for children and adolescents. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the Selective Mutism Group – Childhood Anxiety Network, the International OCD Foundation, Anxiety and Depression Association of America, and the BC Psychological Association.
