The Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD) at Boston University (BU) provides comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents experiencing all types of fears and anxiety, including selective mutism.

We offer traditional, weekly individual therapy as well as week-long intensive treatments, both based on behavioral and cognitive-behavioral principles and tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. In addition, we run Brave Bunch, a week-long group treatment program, which is offered several times a year. School consultation and training services also are available.

For additional information about CARD’s SM Program, as well as our other therapeutic services, please contact Dr. Rachel Merson.
