Danielle Zar, LPC, MEd
Danielle is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed School Counselor, and Learning Behavioral Specialist. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Loyola University Chicago, a master’s degree in special and elementary education from DePaul University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern University.
Danielle recognizes that all behaviors are a reflection of underlying feelings, so when working with children with selective mutism, she helps them identify and understand their deeper anxiety and the mind-body connection. She helps children with selective mutism utilize more constructive ways of coping with their worries and to expand their window of tolerance for speaking.
Danielle specializes in parent education and works closely with parents, teachers and other caregivers to ensure that children are cared for in ways that foster their growth in all settings. As a result of the work in Danielle’s office and supports put in place in other spaces, your child can gain the capacity to communicate and connect with those around them.
