Rachel Busman, PsyD, ABPP is a clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Busman has extensive experience providing evidence- based treatment to children, adolescent and with families. She has specific interest and expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, separation anxiety, specific phobias, and selective mutism. She is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM) and is an interagency trainer. She is the past president of the Selective Mutism Association and is an active SMTI trainer.
Dr. Busman is the Senior Director of the Child & Adolescent Anxiety and Related Disorders Program at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants (CBC) in White Plains, NY. She runs a Selective Mutism program there, which includes the intensive group treatment program called Voice Rising. Prior to joining CBC, Dr. Busman was the Senior Director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute and the director of Brave Buddies, an internationally recognized program for children with SM. Dr. Busman is very passionate about her work with children, teens and their families. She presents frequently at schools, for other professional organizations and is a supervisor and teacher.
