Stella Silver, PsyD is a New Jersey Licensed Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist. Her private practice in Monmouth County, New Jersey offers consultation, diagnosis and psychological treatment of Selective Mutism, and well as comprehensive assessments. Her training in School Neuropsychology enables her to fully evaluate cognitive skills, memory skills, executive functioning, and adaptive behavior to better understand the source of a child’s difficulty.

Dr. Silver’s treatment methodology is not a one size fits all approach. Treatment is tailored to each client in order to address their particular needs. Sessions may take place in the office, home or school setting.

“My approach is to collaborate with parents and schools to create a comprehensive plan for the treatment of Selective Mutism. Parent training is an essential component of treatment, and caregivers are always actively involved in sessions. I utilize evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral techniques including stimulus fading and speech shaping. Techniques are modeled for caregivers so they can use these approaches in real-world situations. When appropriate, sessions include exposure exercises in the community. I work with schools to design appropriate accommodations for students. Please call for a confidential, free, initial conversation so I can better understand your child’s unique needs.”
