Dr. Susanna Crowell McQuarrie (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and her doctoral degree from Georgia State University. She completed her predoctoral psychology internship at the University of California at Davis Child and Adolescent Abuse and Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Center where she was certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Dr. McQuarrie was initially trained in treating Selective Mutism by Dr. Steve Kurtz using PCIT adapted for Selective Mutism. She has been a camp counselor at Dr. Kurtz’s Mighty Mouths Kids camp and a classroom teacher in the DC Metro Confident Kids Camp with Dr. Lindsay Scharfstein.

Dr. McQuarrie also has experience with Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy treatments for PTSD in adults and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for trauma symptoms in children. She

Dr. McQuarrie specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, selective mutism, and parenting/behavior management strategies. Her approach to therapy is to use evidence-based strategies to manage and reduce mental health symptoms through a compassionate and collaborative approach.
